The outside world is a stressful place. Whether it’s a major tragedy or a day full of small annoyances, you will feel nagging negativity from time to time. And when you do, it has a tendency to stain everything – especially your home.
Home should serve as an oasis; a space where you can recharge and relish the reprieve from daily stressors. You should feel safe, relaxed and comfortable when you step through the door.
Unfortunately, when negative energy gets stuck, that’s the opposite of what happens.
So, if your home feels a bit stale and gloomy, it may be time for a bit of energy healing. It’s a way to clean out the spiritual cobwebs, so to speak. Using the tactics I’ll outline today, you can transform your home into the happy, cozy space it was always meant to be. It's time to cleanse energy in your home.
1. Clean the Entryways
Energy comes into your home the same way you do – through the door. Start your cleansing process by going through the home and cleaning all your doorknobs.
Here’s a good solution you can concoct in a spray bottle:
- Lemon Juice
- White Vinegar
Wiping them down regularly will not only help with the energy, but also keep them physically clean. After all, germ buildup happens quickly when there are several hands touching the same thing every day.
2. Fix the Broken Things
No one likes to look at broken things. Whether you realize it or not, keeping broken items lying around the home is sucking the good energy out.
Take the weekend and do all the repairs your home needs. And, yes, you’ll want to throw out that broken rocking chair you’ve been meaning to fix for years. It’s time to fix or let go of the broken things and make way for good, healing energy.
3. Burn Sage
>For centuries, people across cultures burned sage to cleanse the air of evil spirits and negative energy. While you may or may not believe evil spirits are lurking about, I can assume you believe in the negative energy because you’ve read this far into the article
Walk around the house with a bundle of burning sage while you set an intention of healing energy. Some people like to pray, but even the simple act of meditating on a positive home can set the tone for positivity to flow.
And, of course, make sure to practice fire safety. You really want the smoke from the burnt sage. So, it’s not necessary to walk around with fire flailing about.
4. Listen to Healing Music
Sound therapy is a powerful method of healing. Fill your home with the sounds of music as a way to combat negative energy. YouTube has several good videos you can play in the background through your speakers. Here are a couple of my favorites:
Do you have some favorite music to listen to which uplifts your home? Add it in the comments!
5. Sprinkle Some Salt
Salt is used all around the world as a cleansing agent – from Holy Water to health cleanses. It’s no surprise, then, that we would use it as a way to cleanse the home.
Sprinkle a bit of sale in the corner of each room where you feel the negative energy.
Let it sit for at least two hours, which provides time for the negative energy to collect into the salt pile. Then, sweep or vacuum up the salt as you rid the space of unwanted energy.
6. Open the Windows
My favorite way to welcome positivity is to keep the windows open on a nice day. Sometimes all you need is a bit of fresh air to liven up the space.
The longer you can keep the windows open the better.
However, if it’s too hot or cold, just a few minutes each day could be enough to freshen up your home.
Do you feel attacked by unwanted negative energy in your home? Have you been struggling to rest, relax and recover after a long day? Then it’s time to cleanse your home.
We often focus on spring cleaning and physical organization, but it’s just as important to keep our energy fields clean too. Don’t neglect this important area of your life just because you can’t see all the clutter that has piled up.
I’d like to challenge everyone to try at least one of these tips over the next week. And make sure to leave a comment below telling us which one you chose to try!
