As a healer, we can often focus our energies on improving the balance of those around us and invest much of ourselves in the energies of others. When we do this, we can neglect or deplete our own needs - but taking care of ourselves is truly how we can help other people the best. I find that when I am unbalanced myself, I cannot practice healing as effectively as I can when I am ensuring that each part of me is healthy and well.
Balance occurs through total body energy healing
As we've discussed before, balance happens when we take care of each of the important parts of our health: emotional health, psychological health, and physical health. As a healer, you are responsible to balance yourself and knowing and understanding what outside factors make you feel bad and what makes you feel good.
Sometimes we can become so attuned to feeling and listening to the energies around us, that we forget to listen to and comprehend the energy within us. Wholeness in wellbeing is a crucial part of being able to actually effectively read energy, without us taking too much in and impacting us in negative ways. To be balanced, and to balance others, we must start within ourselves.
Identifying and reading your own energy sources
For me personally, there are a few things that I have come to identify as major factors in my own wellbeing and balance. I know where I can absorb positive energies, and what to avoid to ensure I'm not absorbing negative energies.
For instance, eating meat doesn’t feel good to me. Animals can suffer at the end of life, and I sense that that energy gets transferred. If I want to feel good energy and fuel my body, I need to take care of what I put into it and the sources of that fuel. Good diet and nutrition [Link] is an integral part of health and energy, and has a very direct impact on moods and our susceptibility to illness.
Energy is also very directly impacted by action and activity. Often inaction can lead to poor energy, where most of the time people believe poor energy is what leads to inaction. When you make the choices to get up and move, or take action in your life, positive energy will follow.
Emotional health and psychological health are also great impactors of balance. When I'm not feeling my best emotionally or psychologically, I can feel clouded or unclear. By taking stock of the things in my life or behavior that I have control over and making clear intentions for rebalance by removing the sources of negative energy, that fogginess lifts. Then I can be sure that my energy healing practice is at its more pure and effective.
As healers we have a duty to be balanced within ourselves for us to take care of others. We cannot be the best of our abilities without this. But in identifying the right factors that make us feel balanced, and eliminating negative energies, we can utilize these tools every day to ensure we are whole in our own wellbeing.
