Relief from Pain charity’s first Healing Garden Festival took place on Saturday 13th October at The Maidenhead Healing Centre. We had an exceptionally warm and unusual sunny October day to welcome in healers and participants, some from as far as Manchester!
The following objectives for the event were successfully achieved:
- Raise awareness of the charity’s commitment to helping those with chronic pain.
- Continue our efforts to establish healing as a recognised therapy within the conventional medicine industry.
- Raise funding to help those with chronic pain.
- Allow healers to connect and network with each other.
Outdoor activities were held at the start of the day such as outdoor yoga run by Ellen O’Farrell. We have been running the weekly outdoor yoga sessions all year round including winter days for re-energising and rejuvenating the body and soul. Gabriel Dayan, creator of THE Transformation Technique, was able to reduce his high blood pressure by 43 mmHg from just one yoga session! Another participant who suffers from chronic pain and muscular spasm also reduced her high blood pressure by 30 mmHg.
Everyone enjoyed the full benefits of our mystical healing garden and at the same time there were healing sessions indoors throughout the day. Inspiring discussions took place and healers shared advice between themselves while our plant food specialist, Cheryl Pertoni, prepared and served delicious delights for all to enjoy.
A Big Thank You...
And last but not least a BIG thank you to our volunteers, who helped with the event preparations, cooking, cleaning, serving everyone and anything else that needed to be done. A special “thank you” to Jag Dhillon, managing director of Dhillon Heritage Flour who was our corporate sponsor providing the flour and baking chapatis!
The event was so successful we’re planning another one next year. WATCH THIS SPACE!
