How Healing can help crying babies on airplanes:
It was early in the morning when the taxi collected us to go to Heathrow airport. We were flying to Pisa to join a team of experts on holistic health and wellbeing in Bagni di Lucca, Italy, the conference New Paradigm on Holistic Health and wellbeing. Nice to sit in the British Airways Club Class, it would be a treat paid by airmiles we had been collecting.
Then in the row right behind us "a travellers worst nightmare", super-cute twin babies, maybe 2 or 3 months old. One of them fell asleep almost as soon as his bottle was finished. Nicely nestled on his mother’s chest in alignment with her chakras. The other one cried and screamed for 20 minutes. The poor dad was getting more and more stressed which caused the baby to cry even more. After a couple of minutes distant healing, picturing gently cradling the baby’s head in my hands, covering the crown and especially the third eye chakra, and the baby calmed down. She fell asleep cheek to cheek with his dad. So lovely seeing them sleep. What is going on here?
Babies are hypersensitive to energy vibrations, they feel when something is not right, they sense our aura, our emotions, when calm or in turmoil, we cannot really lie. Also as babies’ body are still forming, they suffer more from the physical cabin pressure. In the days you could take bottles on the plane, they nearly flatten after landing. This is what is happening to our bodies when we land and take off. An adult has learned to withstand this pressure, some people better than others. Look at the G-forces fighter pilots have to deal with. Most people would pass out.
What most parents would not be consciously aware of is that children’s aura and energy bodies, like their physical bodies take time to develop. Adults also have fully formed energy bodies. Our chakras, our aura, everything is developed and when we are in balance, they functioning appropriately to interact with other energy vibrations in the world. When our energy is nicely balanced, the aura protects us and allows us to go about our business as usual.
Remember when a child ‘for no apparent reason’ climbs on your lap and plunk themselves upright against your chest, head resting against the throat? Most adults will instinctively put their chin on the child’s head and wrap arms around it. What we actually do is for the child to connect with our energy body: the child instinctively aligns itself with our chakras, safely hidden and protected in our auras. It is important to allow this. It is important to understand this is part of a process of growing up. This is how a child learns what energy balance is all about. Barbra Ann Brennan explains this very well in her book: "Healing Hands". I highly recommend all parents to read Part III, psychodynamics and the human energy field where she describes the human experience from birth to death.
So next time when you travel with children and babies on a plane: be mindful. As their tiny bodies are being squashed, so are their energy fields. Focus for a moment and strengthen yourself. It is my experience that you can ground yourself on a plane, balance your energy and allow your baby / child to benefit from this balance. Hold your baby’s head, back and front of the head, physically wrapping your hands loosely around their third eye chakra as to protect it. Hold them so they will feel less pressure. Let me know how it went. No one wants babies and young children crying on a plane, especially not the parents.
