We’re back this week with our second installment of the Pain Relievers Interview Series. In this post, I’ll be sharing some of the wonderful insights from Wendy Fry.
Wendy is based in Surrey, United Kingdom and works locally and via Skype with patients. She is a member of the British Institute of Hypnotherapists, and also registered with the International Coaching Institute and The Association of Energy Meridian Therapists.
She’s helping you push away your limiting beliefs and capturing your true self through a variety of transformational modalities, including:
- EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
- Matrix Reimprinting
- Life Coaching
- NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
- Emotional Intelligence
- Picture Tapping Technique
- Emotrance (Emotional Transformation)
- Matrix Birth Reimprinting
- Future Life Progression
In today’s post, we’ll highlight a few of these modalities, talk about mindfulness and highlight Wendy’s personal process for helping you overcome all of life’s obstacles.
The Spotlight Process
This the custom process that Wendy has developed to help her patients. During the interview, I asked her to elaborate on it. In response, she provided this wonderful explanation:
It aids the person using the process to think about where their thoughts might be repetitive. So, if their thoughts are increasingly in the past, then they’re not in the present. They might be harping on things from the past, and projecting that onto the current moment or even into the future.
It’s very much about bringing the thoughts into alignment and having a balance of having thoughts in the past, present and future. And just exploring whether or not those thoughts are helpful in the present moment and whether or not those thoughts can be changed.
It’s actually a process where you question your thinking and whether or not those thoughts are true or not. It’s about bringing clarity about what is negative thoughts, and how you can change that into something that’s more positive where it actually increases your sense of peace, calm and vibrational energy.
That’s certainly something that we could all use!
Keep a Gratitude Journey
Another thing that Wendy points out as a resource for mindfulness is a gratitude journal. When you keep one of these, you can reflect at the end of your day – or even throughout the day – about the good things happening.
Over time, you begin to truly appreciate how able your mind is and how able your body is. You’re just more in the moment and learn to be present.
Wendy has been working this way for years. I loved hearing just how powerful it has been for her and her clients. One thing she said really shined:
It’s not until you let someone know that there’s a different way of thinking that it ever dawns on them that they actually can change their thought processes and the beliefs that limit them.
There are so many people out there that haven’t achieved their potential due to limiting beliefs. You may even be one of them! Wendy tells the story of a middle-aged lady suffering with anger management issues.
This lady believed she would be angry her whole life – that it was just the hand dealt to her. But since she and Wendy worked through those limiting beliefs, her entire life has changed. She has now gotten involved in a successful relationship, moved up in her career, gone traveling and done so many other wonderful things.
As Wendy puts it,
It’s amazing to see the change in someone when they can let go of their past and make their future a much happier place to be.
How true that is for all of us!
Using Energy Modalities
In addition to her Spotlight Process and mindfulness advice, Wendy works in a range of energy modalities. We’ve talked about some of these here on the blog, but I’d like to dive in a bit and share some of the things that were shared with me.
Ultimately, working with clients is all about meeting their needs. As Wendy says,
Some people aren’t comfortable with things like hands-on Reiki, so you can do hands-off. Other things like EFT gives the client more control, whereas Matrix re-imprinting requires someone else to tap.
If you’re working as a healer, remember to always ask yourself: How can i support them and meet their needs?
We’ve talked about this a few times on the blog, and it’s certainly a popular topic in the healing community. It’s a core modality for many healers, Wendy is no exception.
Reiki can be used as a hands-on or hands-off treatment, depending on the preference of the person needing healing. It’s a great practice for people needing support for emotional issues, or even those that would like relief in their physical health.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
This works similar to acupuncture. The goal is to create stimulating energy flow in the body to remove any blockages you may be experiencing.
With EFT, the person needing healing does tapping motions. The result is a release from overwhelming emotions like:
Some athletes even use it as a way to increase their sports performance.
Wendy mentions this as one of her favorite ways to work with a client. This treatment has you explore previous memories or experiences that have limited you in life.
It’s great for people with phobias, or those that have experienced trauma – whether in childhood or adulthood. The point is for healers to tap on a client’s energy points as they recall a memory they’d like to work through. Wendy calls it working with the echo. It’s simply working with the younger version of ourselves to overcome the trauma of our past.
Future Life Progression
This is a wonderful technique where you travel forward in time, move beyond current limitations and explore how you’ve already overcome a current problem. You’ll learn what the future holds for you, then take that information back to the now.
Once you’ve finished the session, you can take what you learned and decide what actions you need to take to make that future a reality.
In fact, it was in one of these sessions that I decided to start Relief from Pain.
Working With the Medical Establishment
During our interview, Wendy points out that she’s not specifically referred clients from a GP. However, that doesn’t hinder her passion for medical research and supporting those that need additional support not found through modern medicine.
Some of her clients come to her with long-standing issues that medicine simply can’t fix.
And that’s why the healing community needs to invest even more time and effort into case studies, clinical trials and other research that supports the use of complementary treatments in the medical field.
At Relief from Pain, we’re trying to accomplish just that. As Wendy says,
That’s why I support Relief from Pain so much.
It may not happen today or tomorrow. But the future holds great things for healing – you don’t need a Future Life Progression session to figure that out. We’re happy to be a part of this movement, and welcome all others to join us for the ride.
Thank You, Wendy Fry
Chatting with her was wonderful, and I definitely recommend you dive deeper into the content that she’s publishing for people just like you and I.
Thank you, Wendy, for taking time to chat and share a bit of your journey with us.
