It’s time to trade in your knife for a fork or spoon. It’s time to showcase that eating for life should take life away from something else. How does the saying go… “Take a bite out of life”? That phrase holds more and more weight as we take a deeper and darker look at what we truly bite into for our daily lives and why things need to change. It’s time to step away from the meat.
A Plant-Based Approach to Life and Healing
When you give up meat you are doing more than just removing it from your life. You are removing all of the chemicals, hormones, disease, and death that comes with it. You are freeing yourself of a physical and emotional burden. When you consciously choose what you put into your body, you can start healing yourself from the inside out.
A plate filled with color and nutrients, devoid of lost life. A plant-based lifestyle affords you the knowledge that no living thing suffered so that you may eat. You are eating what you were intended to, a meal to sustain you and provide you with the vitamins and minerals you need.
No More Excuses
Whatever your reason is, whether is animal rights, health, or lowering your environmental footprint, you aren’t alone in wanting to live a more plant-based lifestyle. The arguments against a vegetarian or vegan existence are fading. More and more plant-based products are entering the market each day. The modern-day vegetarian or vegan doesn’t have to say goodbye to burgers. They can eat plant-based versions that satiate their hunger without animals paying the price for it. We’re in the middle of a food revolution, and the winners are the consumers AND the animals.
It’s easy to just get caught up in the buzz of Beyond Meat, but we are seeing a significant shift away from animal meat products. The excuses are dwindling with more access to alternatives as well as hundreds of YouTubers ready at the push of a button, to educate you on how to make delicious and simple vegan dishes. Additionally, more and more restaurants set aside their menu to feature vegetarian or vegan options. Being a vegetarian or vegan has never been easier.
Culture of Meat
But what about cultures with a history deeply steeped in eating meat in their daily lives? Even that is a debate that the plant-based community is winning. Persian food, for example, has a rich history with of animal-based dishes and yet, a new generation is learning that you can celebrate your culture and your favorite foods, and still practice a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle.
A Google search for “Persian food made vegan” provides a list of blogs, documentaries, recipes, and more. All showing the shift to embrace culture and plants.
